So i was crusin through town on my fifty, [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]..when all of a sudden outta NOWHERE a cop cars flys by and stops, so i slow down, and from my view it looked like he was getting papers together, so i went along another street away from him. Then outta nowhere again...sirens blastin, he comes flying towards me. So i stop..i'm thinking to myself. "Well this is it my friend, nice to know ya sweet world" The cop rolls down his window and says "What are you doing" I reply "umm...riding?" Then he starts blabbing on and on about dangerousness and how my helmet isnt right, (i use the helmet i do for riding my Z...fulmer thingie). Then he tells me to walk home, i'm a friggin 3.5 miles away from my house. So i whip out da cell and call my mom to pick me up.


I've only had the bike for about 1 month and i've been stopped 4 times counting this one...btw: i'm only 14 and my name is in the directory for the police station. Oh well.

Wow thats a long post...the pizzaman is here so i'm going to eat pizza now.

 

I've never been caught before...but maybe it's cause I live out in the boonies sorta. I saw the cops a little close today, just fortunately it wasn't for me. They came out to our neighbors today because some 12 year old kid spraypainted...vulgar..words all over their barn and on the back door while they were gone to work. That's gotta really suck, 4 times in a month [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

I have only been pulled over once...when I was riding through town (not a uncommon site cuz we use to live in a hick town) and the cop asked me if I knew why he pulled me over...I said no like always and he told me that I shouldnt be riding on the street and I shouldnt be cuttin the corners like I was....$hit people do it all the time in there cars and no one ever gets stoped...He also asked to see my liscense and I told him I was 15...then he asked if I had a atv saftey certifacte and I told him I was working on the class at home (which I was but never finished) and he told me not to do it again...didnt listen and never had any other probelms since!

 

man the cops really hate you guys hehe. december 2003 (just a few months ago, this is about 2 weeks after i got my predator) i was riding my predator down the street, on a road that doesnt normally see cops. yes, i was on the street, yes i was over the speed limit, by about 20 mph, (speed limit is 25) going over a hill in the road, BOOM, county sherrif car drives by me. i was thinking "well shoot, im really screwed now" so i kept on driving acting normal, and he just kept on going too!! man thats the last time i drove my pred in daylight on the streets. the part that worried me is i live in washington state, and you cant even make a quad street legal here. another thing was at the time i was 14 y/o, and i didnt have any quad licensing at all, just watched the polaris safety video hehe. thats prolly the closest call ive had.

 

and people wonder why the gov is trying to ban atv's? you might not relize it but everytime someone breaks a law on an atv especially in public areas it gives the gov more ammo to get their laws passed. one day it could be illegal to ride an atv anywhere. best thing to do is find a safe riding area and stick with it. two years ago we had four young people riding an atv on a public road, three girls 8, 10 and 11 and a 15 year old boy. they came around a curve and were hit head on by a car doing around 70mph. the boy who was driving the atv was the only one who lived because he was thrown over the car but he is now cripple for the rest of his life and has to live with knowing he was partialy to blame for the death of his two friends and sister. the boy in the car was also killed when the atv came through the windshield. the atv should have never been on the road and you can believe the press had a field day with it. just think about what the end result could be before you ride.

I am thinking about doing a Safety course down in your neck of the woods this summer. I haven't been there yet, but I have Millville and Mazeppa in mind. I might even consider coming to Winona if there is a place to do the riding component. Let me know if you have any ideas.

 

There are WAY more deaths and people breaking the law from snowmobling, dirtbiking, and motorcycles.

 

i agree! even more people die from traffic accidents, hunting accidents and boating aciddents use but their not watching those people trying to take their rights away. atv's are being targeted and any missuse that draws attention only hurts the sport more. i'm not trying to scold anyone, heck when i was young i bent the law a few times. all i'm saying is try not to be in the public eye.
