you wont notice much... they are just nice because they do add a little flow and are washable... i am not sure if you need to rejet or not... i was told that on a pred you are supose to... but i never did and it ran fine.

Ditto to what Hozed said. I just recently installed one on my Wife's 400 and I hadn't noticed any difference in performance, it will just be easier to service and you won't have to buy another air fiolter for a long, long, time...if ever.

i love mine and it will save you money in the long run instead of buying a new filter every so often you can have this one for the rest of your atvs life. when i put mine in i noticed a quicker throttle response and they say if your are going to do alot of other mods to your quad its a must have item its lets alot more air in then a regular filter

what's a paper element filter cost? They are totally proprietary and I would guess that since I'm paying around $8 just for a stinkin' cheezy Polaris oil filter, that air filter has to be around $10 bucks?? I don't know as I haven't and won't be buying a paper element filter from here on out. Air filters are not something you can overlook, they will rob you of performance, fuel economy, and potentially cause engine damage if not judiciously replaced. With the type of environment that I ride, as most ATV users, I couldn't imagine changing mine "at least" 2 or 3 times in a year. Where's the savings in that?
Just my .02 cents....

I installed one on my 500 Sp and there was no noticeable difference in performance. However that's not the reason I installed it. I wanted to be able to clean the filter at any time as some of our trails can be very dusty which means cleaning the filter after every dusty ride. It works for me.
