Polais fans gotta see this....

As the day progressed, it became obvious that if you didn't own a Polaris, chances are you simply wouldn't stand a chance. Out of 11 classes, Polaris machines won 9, with Yamaha winning one and Arctic Cat one. You could make a case that it was the Polaris's snowmobile belt drive that allowed the motor to stay at its torque peak that allowed them to win. However that idea was dispelled by the poor performance shown by the Yamaha Grizzleys in attendence with the same type of drive. In 2WD, the Polaris's would out pull others because of the outstanding OE tires. In 4WD it was not only the tires but the "On-Demand"™ front drive system. Again I base this on the less than stellar performance delivered by Grizzley's with aftermarket tires. They simply can't get the power to the ground as efficiently as a Polaris does.

With results like that, you think people would quit dissin the Polaris, and give them the respect they deserve. I think alot of the problem is that Polaris doesn't have the 'name' that other quads do. It's about time people realize that Polaris aint no joke. I get so sick of people telling me I should have gotten a Grizzly 660, a Honda Rubicon, a Prarie 650, etc. Maybe they will take a look at these results.

That's pretty cool. This took place only 40 minutes from where I live. There are some real rough off-road trails around here and 75% of the people on them are driving a Polaris Sportsman. The father you go the worse they get, nothing else seems to be able to get through. I'm not putting down the other brands just telling everyone what I've seen.

I compared a *LOT* of quads before settling on two Polaris'
In all honesty I would have bought a YFZ 450 before the Predator but $1000 and a seat like a bed of nails sent me Polaris' way in the end. It's hard to argue that the Predator doesn't have that little bit more utility than the latest full-out racers combined with a lower price.
The Sportsman H.O.? Tally up all the features - the big clearance, the AWD system, the refined belt system, IRS, et al and the only one that compares is the grizzly. Ever seen a Grizzly get away from a Sportsman H.O.? Unlikely for more than a few quad lengths at a time. And here in Ontario I bought my Sportsman 4.5 for $2K less than the Yamaha dealer was asking for a Grizz.
Then you get into insurance. A 500 H.O. has all the power anyone relatively sane needs - and it's less than half the price in Ontario to insure.
Considering ALL those things, the 500 H.O. makes huge sense, especially the 4.5 version.
Sorry for the rant.

Hey Shaman, no rant, just facts.
I know this is kinda off the subject, but it seems like there are fewer Polaris here in the south, mostly hondas and a few yamahas, what are the % of ppl you think up north that ride a Polaris compared to the other brands??? Just wondering.
