I'm looking at buying a used Sportsman 600. It has about 600 miles on it and is going for $4900. Seems like a good price. Is there any trouble with this model? and what should I be checking for?

 

Very solid machine with awesome torque and amazing off road capability. If you were to see a problem you might see a leak at the waterpump area.. most likely from the weep hole. Some people have had problems with junk getting in their carb vent lines and causing issues running. But that is more of a fault of where the lines are located and has a easy fix - move them and put filters over the ends.

 

I have a 04.5 600, and love it. I wouldnt trade it for nothin. It may not be a 700or efi, but it has a huge amount of torque. I also heard that they handle better than the 700's. I dont know this for sure never been on a 700, just what i have heard. I do know that 600 is plenty strong for me. I havnt had any problems out of my bike, so i couldnt tell you were to look for problems. I hope this helps.

 

I have an 03 600. Have put 4300 miles on it with no problems except I replaced a belt at 3700 miles and put in new plugs at 4000 miles. Its a great machine..
