Who knows the trick to keep starter o-ring from leaking?

I think i was the bom that said to make sure you use the proper mix of antifreeze and water because the antifreeze actuall has oil in it to keep them soft a flexiable and straight water has minerals that will eat them up

Thanks for input guys, I will try a few different o-rings that I have and silicone heavily and let it set-up.

ANNIHILATER,
Take a good look at the nose cone of the starter..make sure it is not worn, also look at the area in the hole where the starter o-ring seats...I have see this area worn down from vibration due to running a bad o-ring for too long
DuneMe had the same problem, and ended changing the nose cone on his starter "this helped"
Jeff

You'll have to go to the BMW Dealer for the nose cone piece Jeff is talking about. Isn't cheap either (I think $115 or so ) Part of the nose piece of the starter was worn away causing it to move around in there.
Looks like the BMW Part number is: 12412343157 (Housing Assy.)
Part number for the o-ring through BMW is: 12412343252
I have the .pdf of the BMW Parts guide. If someone has a site they want to post it on send me a PM. Bomb. doesn't have a detail on these parts and for some reason they can't seem to get them individually.
