I thought I would start an additon to the 700 twin post because it is getting kind o long. Anyway these are my thoughts on the subject. I always thought that the reason they went to the Scrambler line up was to come up with a new Sport. Now there is talk of the 400 two stroke going away, which in my opinion would be very sad. If this is true then that would leave all the Srambler lineup as thumpers for the sport/recreation type rider. Then they will come out with a new Sport but knowing Polaris it will not be the full out racer we all want. It will lean just a bit to the hevy side. Kind of like their RMK 6,7,800. Although they run _alls to the wall they are a bit heavy. I think. Anyway I hope my opinion is true maybe not????

i think u can blame the gov't on the demise of the two stroke. i believe in california in 2001 they are banning 2-strokes. and california is a big market and other states will follow. i think thats the reason why 2-strokes are going away.

later

Wiscosin is banning the sale of all 2-stroke outboard boat motors in 2001 also. I just hope MN & Wiscosin allow our 2-stroke toys to die of old age and not an out right ban of them! Also I talked to my dealer agian this weekend, he said the 700 Sportsman is going to be a 2001 model! At the very least an early 2002. He hasn't lied to me yet!

2 strokes on on there way out think 660 Raptor Honda has no 2 stroke atv's. The governmnet has it in for 2 strokes and it sucks. I mean they worry about some atv's poluting the world , but they don't care if people are buying 15 mpg gallon sport utilites by the millions.

I agree with xpath! The government targets the smallest point of pollution, and trys to stop it, but the largest point of polution keeps on growing faster than *****. I dont ride for speed, but i think two strokes should stay.

The gov uses 2 strokes and other minor polluters as scape goats because we dont have multi BILLION dollar lobbying budgets!
Has anyone here ever been to Elizabeth NJ
and seen the Huge refineries there?
I bet that if you took the pollution from every 2 and 4 stroke ATV for a whole year and added it up it would not hold a candle to the stuff that these places spew into the air in one day!
Nuff said. Drew
