What's the easiest way to remove the chain on the EX. Is the only way by sliping it over the sprockets? I didn't find a masterlink anywhere. Thanks in advance.

Stock chains are what they call endless, no masterlink. You can either cut it or remove the swingarm, sucks don't it.

you don't need to remove the swing arm... Just loosen up the four alan bolts on the end of your swingarm and rotate your axle forward then slip it over the sprocket... Or just cut a link out like i did with my dremel...hehe Now i need a master link for stock chain and the did o-ring chain that is out in the market does not fit.... more than likely the chain streeched too much...

Do you want to remove the chain or just take it off the sprockets?

Mike,

Yes, my intent was to fully remove the chain. I wanted to perform the "Hot Oil Bath" treatment on it. Oh Well!

Skunky,

I think you made a typo. I sort of understood what you did, but the typo got me confused on the fix. You took a link out and I guess tried to insert an aftermarket master-link??? But, the aftermarket did not fit...correct? So, you are telling me not to cut a link out....right?

Hey, thanks fellas

the typo was not a typo The stock chain is a D.I.D. chain. I tried to get the D.I.D. master link for there d.i.d. x-link chain which is o-ring... The issue is is that my stock chain streeched and the master link would not fit..

Brian, the swingarm removal is a simple procedure, you can also grease your pivot bearing while your at it.
