bombardier rally fuel tank leaking?
#1
I went to purchase a used 2003 rally today from a dealer only to find a leak on top of the fuel tank and a discoloration of the tank around the sides that appeared to be where the fuel line inside the tank might be. We also notice the same color on another 2003 that had been used to demonstrate and had fuel in the tank for guiet a while.
Have any of you rally owners had this problem or know of this problem? I would not buy the unit because of this. The dealer suggested a bad mix of plastic in the tank and had a call to bomb headquarters for help. I would appreciate any help before I buy.
thanks ML

I've never heard of that before!
This spring it will be two years that we had our rally. And we havent had any problems with it. Just had to replace the brake pads, keep the chaing tightend and greased.

Thanks for the reply IrEvIn I still want a rally but I am waiting to hear back on the fuel tank. Did you consider any other atv when you bought the rally? And do you think it is as good and reliable as the honda recon or the suzuki ozark?

Well my friend at the time had a 250 recon. And I could do everything he could do, if not better. The rally goes fast for only a 176cc! and it has pretty good ground clearence! I would ramp mine on our jumps behind my house, and the suspension held up good!!!
I think its a great quad for anyone, first time rider or an experienced rider!
What type of riding do you do?!

So far I have taken my family to the Ocala National forest at Saltsprings Fl where we ride trails through the forest, nothing challenging but fun to get away and try to get lost. We do see quit a bit of wild life (aligators, possums, racoons etc.). There is a place north of Tampa but they have strick regulations and I do not qualify yet. I have a bomb outlander max that is not legal to ride on the forest in Florida and a Suzuki eiger with no FL title. So they will not let me ride there. The place is called Croom and has a lot of mining pits. Anyway thanks for the info.
