2003 Rally 200 timing chain source
#1
Picked up a group buy of 3 quads needing work, one a 2003 Rally 200 that ran funny, then wouldnt fire, went to set the valves, found a timing chain so loose I could take it off the cam sprocket with little effort. Looked online, believe it or not....only ones for sale on eBay were USED ones, like im going to put a prestretched one on !!....lol. checked Dennis Kirk and Rocky Mt ATV, no timing chain, where do i find a NEW one, prefer aftermarket like DID or Tsubaki, good quality stuff. I've checked google and such, don't seem to be a lot of places that offer new parts for that little quad. any help is greatly appreciated !!

Ok, good news and bad news, found a timing chain from dirtcheapatvparts.com, so opened up the top end to see how hard it would be to change out, figured while I had the timing chain off the head, I would set the valves, exhaust was way loose, one intake set up fine, the other would not give me any clearance....saw the spring was a bit higher than the other, fearing the worst, pulled the head, yup, snapped off intake valve head. the valve I can buy for 34 bucks, but the piston had hammered it sideways into the seat, putting a deep notch on 2 sides. Does anyone know where I can get a new valve seat? I checked every small engine and machine shop in my area, been looking online, no luck, not looking to buy a new head, the one used one I saw on eBay was a rusty piece of junk for 225 bucks. everything else on this quad is ready to go, just need this one part. any help out there? thanks in advance.
