Default Does the Foreman 450 & 400 have the same frame?

I'm looking into buying a DG alum skid plate for my 450. The catalog only shows it for the Foreman 400. I am assuming that the same skid should work on both the 400 and 450. Is this true? I just want to make sure it will work before I purchase it. Thanks.

That's a good question but when you look at the stock guard assy on the parts finder they call for two different types.

450

400

Look at the difference in the pricing on the battery holder and a few other items.

Raptoryfm660r- Thanks for trying to help. I am in the process of comparing pictures and parts.

One of the things that leads me to believe that they are the same. I've found two other skids that list the same part number for both the Foreman 400 and 450. (the Maier skid and a Perfex skid) Now I've noticed that the Perfex front skid plate has them listed as being the same. The Perfex Maniax full skid plate has two different part numbers. (both pictures look like a full skid) The Maniax is extended up in the front to also replace the stock front protection.

Back to the charts.

I am with you on thinking there the same but did you notice the mounting point/skid are different in the side pictures. I would say DG and others have a universal fit to both machines.

But the battery holder looks the same but the price sure isn't, maybe a typo.

I have looked in about 5 different catalogs and more on-line sites and they all say something different. Some sites on-line show one item number up until 2001 and then another on up. Others show an item number up to 2002. Some only go up to 98 or 99 and then it changes. Spring/Summer 2003 Rocky Mountain list it 95 to 03 on both the 400 and 450 but then they don't offer it in a newer catalog.

I'll probably go to order it and it will be out of stock.

I wonder if it might mount up but then the oil drain hole won't line up. RMountain had it for both models in the one catalog though. Same part number.

The drain holes I never thought about that.
