Scrambler - Tire Size from Front to Rear
#1
On a 2000 Scrambler 400 4x4 the stock tires are 23 inch in front, 22 inch in back
What might I notice if I did 23-inch in front and 24-inch in back. Would I mess up the engagement of 4x4? Would I engage 4x4 faster or slower? Would I lose some power or acceleration?
Thanks in advance!

The 1" difference needs to be there for the 4wd to function properly. Thats how it was geared from the factory. You MAY be able to get away with 23's all around, but going 23's on the front and 24's on the rear will throw the 4wd system way out of wack.

Thanks - I found out MudLites are backordered 'til mid-April at DennisKirk so I cancelled my order. I also thought they might wear quickly on the pavement and rock trails where more than half of my riding occurs. I went to TiresUnlimited and got Holeshot XCTs for this scrambler - 22x11x10 on rear, 23x7x10 on front - these look like good all-round tires but did I make a mistake? I hope I have not lost rear ground clearance versus the stock AT489s. THe holeshots seem to sit flatter. Maybe I can round-them out with more air? Anybody got experience with these?
