why wont it go FASTER???AAHHGGG

I cannot figure out what is going on. I installed a complete biggun race
a WB power filter and dynojet(s). I started with a 170 main which sputtered
like crazy through all the gears, so i dropped to a 165 the 160. I then called
dyno jet, they told me to run a 150 and leave the needle alone,
which from what I understand is actually smaller than the makuni.
Now im no genius but it seems to me to go faster you
add more air and more gas and you get some more speed. Anyway I went ahead
and dropped down to a 155, it runs great except it is not ANY FASTER THAN IT WAS STOCK.
I was runnin it in little sahara ok. I got it on GPS runnin 64mph stock and after the
mods i was runnin a mighty 64mph. Someone please tell me what the hecks up with this. I have a feeling it is probably the operator head space and timing.

Maybe you need an airbox mod. I bought one from Hard Rock Motorsports for 50$ that works great!!
The snorkle that feed the airbox is pretty small, and the Hard Rock kit is supposed to equal like 13 univents or something.
Of course you would have to jet up again to compensate for the air flow

try a sprocket change...In theory if you gain more HP by installing your mods then a higher gearing will not hurt you that bad on take off because you will have the power to pull through it rather than ******* down. A couple of teeth on the rear sprocket make a HUGE difference.

it might be where you are ridin at, try it on some gravel or a dirt road. when i ride in the sand, it seems like i am goin slow as hell. the rear tires on the pred spin like crazy in the sand and you can't ger to top speed that might be your problem. sh*t i don't know

150 main is the stock setup. I am running my pipes and mods and jetted at 170 main 50 pilot and needle on the 4th clip and it runs good. Also stock my machine went 73 miles per hour on gps and now it goes 76, so i def gained some

usually mods like a pipe help in low end power instead of top speed just a thought

fidge 1, he said he was using dynojets...they have a totally whack system...I never could get used to them...but some people like them, i personally never cared for dynojet kits! Like a 150 mikuni is the same as thier 138 or something like that, I don't know...it's a messed up system!!
You may not see a higher top speed, but yes, by seat of the pants you should feel that you are getting their faster. With the more tourqe and hp you have, you could be able to put taller gears in the machine, like a 36 or 35 rear, or even a 15 front if you have the power, play with the gearing to find out. Then you will have quick accel, fewer shifts, and a sweet top-end!

Thanks for the reply's. I went ahead and ran it on the street, big differance, it didnt want to keep the fronts on the ground. I think it was a combination of oklahomas 500mph winds and crappy paddles. this will be the last time i buy used paddles. its seems pretty stupid to spent the bucks to make it faster then lose horsepower through the tires. thanks again

just because you mod your quad does not always result in higher top speed, most mods just get you to your top speed faster than stock, if your looking to gain top speed increase go with a sprocket change, but becareful, go to much and you will loose bottm end!
