CC"S Dont mean much!

im about to vent some frustration.
There are alot of people on here who are confused. Just because a bike has more cc's then another dosnt mean its better. If that was the case then the yfz 450 wouldnt touch a raptor, but it does. And that would also mean that a 400ex can beat a banshee, and it cant. And that would also mean that a yz125 dosnt have any power at all, and it does. And that would mean that a 300ex can beat a blaster, and it can't.
Just because somthing has more cc's dosnt mean its better, or faster.

im not even talkin about you,
thats all you see on the forms now, "my 400 can beat your 350 because its got more cc's"
well thats not the case.
like you said, there are alot more things to consieder. like revs and 2vs.4 stroke. im just saying that alot of people try and compare the amount of cc's when really that dosnt show anything.

It also has alot to do with the gearing. Like A banshee can so easily beat say a grizzley even though the grizzly has almost twice as many CC's. becuase the grizzley is designed to pull anything and go anyware. so it needs lower gearing. the banshee has higher gears becuase it is meant for speed and power.

Dude...you took things way out of perportion! Sure something with less cc's can beat something with more, it just depends on whos making the most power without weighing to much. The larger displacement just means it is more capable of producing larger amounts of HP and torque. The HP numbers of a bike isnt the only factor at all, I think most people are just trying to get the point across that more cc's means it CAN produce more power but DOESN'T mean it will always make more. The new 450's dont have the ability to make the same HP larger displacement engines do BUT they have handling and light weight on there side which helps close that gap in HP between the Rappy. Also the engines put in the 450's are designed to be light and quick revving not for high HP, they don't need all that power for MX.
