Harleys arn't made for HP lol!! Have you ever seen a fast Harley? People just love that V-twin sound! Also...look at the engine tech in those, they haven't been updated since the '60's! I swear!

You can't compair an obsolete engine to a brand new high tech one! Here's a good one for ya...take that same 600cc bike and add 200cc's! Which will win now? The one with the bigger displacement without a doubt!

Take a 2 new bikes. Leave one stock and rejet for optimal performance. Take the other one and bore it out a few thousandths and rejet. Race. Guess what...The bored machine will win. End of displacement discussion.

Actually, you can only add 150 or 400cc's. And it ain't my fault harley's are way behind everyone else....but that is where they belong.....Oh, I crack myself up sometimes....

No, No, like BigBubba just said, it also depends on the technology.....My 02 600 will beat a 90 1100 Ninja up into the 140's.

yes, that is true. But the question is the effectiveness of displacement. In identical engines, displacement makes the winner. Now you can get a 4 cyl car to wax a big block chevy, but it isnt because of the displacement that the chevy loses. Tech and tuning can overcome displacement, but its important with similar engines.

Good point! I've always kinda tried to keep the car topic out of this forum but that explains it well!!
