i went to the dunes suturday. there were a **** load of yfzs and bout four 450rs. they lined up for the drag and they took off. the 450r got the jump all of a sudden the yfzs came spanking the 450s.i never thought yamaha would do so good because lack of engine size and yamahas lack of gearing.

 

what do you mean by lack of gearing?

 

what cracks me up is this whole /the trx is a better trail quad/ bit. do some research before running your mouth about nothing you know.
as far as the dunes are concerned,that makes about as much sense as drag raing one on dirt or gravel. theres more to riding than going all out in a strait line. there is such a thing as jumping you know and what the sport is all about. come down to birmingham one day and i will show you what I mean.

Funny how Honda people like to talk crap about racing up hills and when they lose they talk about other racing and when they lose there (like GNC's) they just keep digging and digging...

The TRX450R is a nice quad though...just doesn't have the power mod to mod to beat the YFZ.

 

I really dont know why someone would go out and buy an MX set up quad just to dragrace. I rode at a private mx track today and it performed flawlessly over jumps, even when i landed short like i did when i wrecked my banshee, it soaked it up great.

 

I don't believe most people do buy MX quads to just dragrace. We dune hard and fast and give MX riders a workout. But on any dune ride, people like to talk crap about racing up hills and it's a good way to see how has more power since it's about 90% quad, 10% rider (in my opinion). MX is reversed so then you can trash talk about who is a better rider.

Nothing wrong with some friendly competetion at the hills. Come out to Glamis and you'll see what I mean.
