Outlander 400 vs Polaris 400
#2
this may start a war but it is fact that has been proven by all the major atv mags in shoot outs . the polaris 400 is underpowered or over weight depending on how you look at it. it is built on the same chasy as the 500ho . the ride is smooth but not as good as the outlander . the polaris suffers from a major designe flaw as do all polaris irs bikes . that is no grease fittings on there suspenion joints. now for the outlander . awsome power as it will run with any 500cc sport/ute bike made . best ride i have ever sat on very very smooth . handles like a sport bike . climbs like a goat . and is very stable in off camber stuff . add some 589's or mud lites and a better mudd bike you will not find . the weekness of the outlander is deep water . but with a few mods it is corectable . the outlander when broke in will break 60mph but is slow going from 50mph up to 60mph. the breaking is awsome . the the tti irs is awsome . there are a few noises that you have to get used to on the outlander but most are there as a result of some designe benefit . yes i am bias as i own a outlander 400ccho xt . but i allso own a polaris and will probably not buy another polaris as long as bombardier is out there .

I would have to agree with wildcard we have had 6 polaris atv since 1994 and they are junk we usually buy 2 at a time just to make sure we have 1 running at all times we also have a yamaha and a kawi that we have never had any issues with. I have used the outlander a couple times and was impressed with the machine so I plan on buying one this fall and putting a snowplow on it for the winter season. Right now I myself have 2001 ds650 no problems at all with 3800 miles on my grandpa has a traxter500 with 5100 miles and no issues either. And on our farm we have a 2001 polaris magnum 500 a 2001 explorer250 that are both sitting in the shop again and the yami and kawi just keep chuggin along. I will say that we use our atvs every day and they do not get babied at all they are rode hard and put away wet every day. As long as bomb builds atv that what I will buy. And my father who has worked at Polaris for 12 years now that explains why we have had 6 poo atvs says he wont ever buy another to many problems. just my 2 cents

The Polaris is the same old 400 quad they've been making for years. The Outlander is new, high tech, different, & cool. Plus, it's built by a company with an outstanding reliability rating. I'd say, go with Bombardier and don't look back!
