How do you all feel about the V-force?

OK, I really wanted a Baja X, but I'm started to be more and more interestd in the KFX 700. The ole lady likes the auto, and we both like reverse, a maintainance free shaft drive, and the ground clearance. For the trails we ride on (muddy, some tight, some wide open, pits, and rough stuff) I would prefer either. Around here the KFX is about $200 more than the X. And it would need skid plates (which could get pricey) and from what I've read, a $225 fuel tank from IMS to go on long rides. I won't even touch the aftermarket pipe price differences.
Also, I know of a few times I was glad I had a clutch to dump and the ability to downshift.
Has anybody had a lot of seat time on both (BarttletRacing?) to give a good comparison? I think I need to comforted and told I'll be ok on a V-force J/K
Thanks for any input!!

Hey fasternu...
I don't have any experience with the V-Force, but I do have a lot of experience with the Prairie 650, which essentially has the same motor, albeit the V-Force is a tad larger in displacement and tuned a bit differently. Personally, I like the V-Force. It seems like it would be a nice ride. However, I wouldn't even consider one over my Baja. The Bomb is just the best ride out there for me. It's big, plush, powerful, and tons of fun!
You probably won't regret it if you buy the V-Force, that is unless you ride a Bomb at some point. Then, you'll likely be sorry. Anyway, have fun shopping!

With my simple mods I smoke piped V's up Dumont's comp by about 7 sled lengths. I imagine they would be pretty fun and would make you that tired. I little to limited on suspension for my big A$$.

THE BOMB HAS THE BEST SUSPENSION OUT OF ANY QUAD. I HAVE MADE SOME HARD LANDINGS ON THE BOMB AND IT SOAKED THEM UP WITH JUST A LITTLE JAR. I WOULD PREFER THE BOMB ANY DAY, NOT BECAUSE I HAVE ONE JUST BECAUSE THE MOTOR IS THE MOST RELIABLE OUT THERE AND THE RIDE IS JUST INCREDIBLE. IMO EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO STOP AND LET THERE A$$ REST FOR A LITTLE WHILE, WHILE U WILL STILL BE TRUCKIN. IMO LANCE

If you are teetering between the two, you really should find a way to ride both. You will NOT know for sure how it rides by sitting on it in the showroom. You mentioned long rides - remember that no one has ever complained about a sore *** after riding a DS650 for hours and hours...
It doesn't sound like drag racing is your thing so speed wont matter, I know reverse is nice, I'd use it if I had it though I am rarely in a situation when I 'need' it. If you ride a machine without it, you ride knowning that any always opt to not get into situations where it would be needed. Also you can run the front tires up a hill, then cut the wheels while rolling back to make a decent three point turn on a small trail.
I know of one guy who owned a V force and is now going back to a DS, though I'm not sure he is a good example - he has owned literally every sport quad and many utilities available in the past few years. Or maybe that makes him a better example - he owned a 2000 DS, a 2002 Baja, then went on to A Raptor, a few others, then at some point a V Force and now a DS again.
Hey even if you go Kawi you can still ride with the DS gang, we're a pretty friendly group.

i've watched the v's they seem nice there power is lower than the other big sports quads. the thing the i see is the front comes up real easy, and i've seen rider get into trouble on hills.

I raced a v force with duals this last week at glamis. It sounded badass. I wonder if the DS with duals would sound the same. On oldsmobile i whooped it and on the flat drags i whooped it even more. They need to pump up the hp on them a little more, i think the auto tranny is robbing alot of its HP.
