How do you all feel about the V-force?

I watched a guy shooting dunes one one not to long ago. He was a big dude and looked pretty stable on it. It definately has a unique sound that you would not think came from an quad. I don't tink you could get a DS or any other single cylinder machine to sound the similar. The V-twin is what gives it its unique sound characteristic.

That's just becasue you have a very nice v-force and you are very good at tuning it to its maximum. You proved this weekend to me that tuning is just as important as what you start with.

My first ride was with a friend who owned a 700 Vforce. I was stuck on his wifes little 250, but still had fun as it was my first time on a quad. He let me try the 700 KFX after I had some seat time on his wifes quad. I LOVED IT! I didnt want to give it back to him! Lots of Power, handeled nice. I got home and decided to sell my car and ended up buying a used DS cause its all i could afford. I love my DS, and its definatly faster then his V, but he gives me greef all the time as he never has to shift, or worry about what gear he is in, and reverse is really nice. Sure you dont need reverse on a ds, But man if it had it it sure would make life eassier. And cleaning the $100.00 oring chain on a DS after every ride is a pain, but at least you can change the gears if you need to.....
I took my wifes Scrambler 500 automatic for a beat run last week. Automatic is a riot! Its easy to get to nuts though. I dont like the noise the V's transmission makes. It just sounds funy to me? And i cant seem to get used to the lag in the belt system. If you punch the gas in a corner, theres a 1/2 to 1 second delay before the springs in the trans load up and shift power to the wheels. So you have to predict 1 second ahead to slid it. That made me feel uneassy, or unconfident... He says hes used to it now, but i still like a manual trans for that reason.
The factory suspension on the V sucks for jumps. My friend busted his battery mount the first hard ride he went on due to it bottoming out so bad. He is planning on geting ELKAS for it as the fronts just suck major a$$! Im not satasfied with the ds shocks for large jumps, but there MUCH MUCH better then the V's. If you plan on jumpoing allot, you would be better to replace the shocks on either bike. But the DS is nice right out og the box.
You will like either bike. Id be happy with either bike for different reasons. as well has have a few complaints about either. If you get the KFX, pick up a polaris white spring to toss in the belt drive after you get it broke in. My friend goes about 250lbs and he said the white spring does him good. He is having trouble keeping up with me in the long stretches. In teh tight woods, he gets ahead of me if im not perfect in my shifting and riding. But its all about fun, and both bikes are lots of it!!!....

Well thanks for all the replies!! I would really, REALLY like to have the BAJA, but the old lady really wants the auto, and we both decided reverse is a definate plus. The biggest jump I hit probably only sends me 6-7 feet in both directions (out and up), and everyone's so bored with it we don't even pay it any attention anymore. There's also alot of mud and knocked down trees to drive through and over, so the auto and extra ground clearance of the KFX would probably be better for that. Most of the good riding spots have gates up now, so alot of my friends sold their sport quads to buy 4X4's, but there's still a few Raptors, Z's, and EX's to play with, so I'm thinkin' I could ride with any of 'em with the V. I also feel it would be more "equipped" for the 4 seasons we have here (not quite winter, almost winter, winter, and just after winter).
Once again, thanks for all the replies, and for answering all my DS perfomance questions earlier!! Maybe I'll get lucky and win the lottery and can have both!!
