I have an 03 polaris sportsman and have decided to go back to a honda. I am looking at the Rancher AT. I had a 450 s before I got the sportsman. How does the rancher compare to the 450s. My 450 stayed in 4 wheel drive all the time. What is the top speed on these?

 

Hey Heck, from my experience with the Rancher400-AT that my friend has, I would say it's similar to the old stile of rancher like I had before. The big differances is you can switch between 4X4-4x2 and AUTO-MANUAL. The power of the 400-AT is a lote better than that old 350 stile. I am very impressed with the new 400-AT. As far as power goes, the 450 Foremans would by far have the most power. The handling, I would choose the 400-AT. The 400-AT is a very sporty bike compared to the 450 Foreman. For the top speeds of the 450 Foreman, i've heard anywhere around 50mps. The 400-AT, my friend supposily had his at 54mps.

P.S. The new 450 Foreman's come now with a switchable 2wd-4wd select.

 

Thanks for the reply. I really don't need that much power. I mainly use my 4 wheelers for hunting and riding.

 

Than the Rancher400-AT would be a very good choise for you to make. (Just my 2cents!)
