Rod work on a 426?
#3
in some cases it will and others it won't. i personally will probably leave my stock rod in when i go larger than my 10.8:1 406. i have talked to someone that broke the rod with a 11:1 426. it may depend how you will be running the bike. i haven't worked on the bottom end before and i don't know what is exactly involved. who knows, i may just put in a carillo. KGB is right. You only need to change the rod if you are running VERY high compression. Mine is a 426 with 10.5:1 and it has ran flawless with 2 years in the Las Vegas heat and 2 more in the Texas heat. All of this is with very hard riding/racing and way too much neglect on my part. You just can't beat the reliability of the ex's.
