Default Does Yamaha have shares in ATV Action??

April issue

How can they do a shoot out when they put aftermarket exhaust on all the quads but not the Baja X. That doesnt seem to fair to me. They blame the X being to wide thats why the sidewall was cut in the tight canyon run, ITs an inch wider than the polariis 500 for cryin out load. arrggh,

any opinions...........why do I buy these magasines.

I feel your pain! Modified competitors versus stock Bombardier. Big price difference too, once you add on all the goodies to the competitors. They should have spent the same $amount on each quad. But, then Yamaha wouldn't spend as much money advertising with them and buying all the test riders and writers steak dinners and drinks.

The funniest thing about that, was at the end of the article they trash the Baja X by saying it's not a good Baja quad. But if you look in the front of the Mag(same mag) they give a congrats to the BAJA X (in allmost stock form) for winning the Dakur BAJA race. Damn I laughed so hard at that, they need to read there own mag before they trash the Baja X. HEHEH it's not a good baja quad but it wins baja races, hmmm I will go with race results.

a few years back they did a shoot out and they placed a value from 1-5 well thinking i'd add up all the scores and the low number would win. well the ds came in at 22 points, the raptor at 25 and the rest were in the 30's well the ds finished 4th and it has never impressed me with there thoughts every since. i do like the look of the believers at the dunes when they realise they may have bought the wrong one.

I think the magazines are pretty bad also. I sold my long time companion (LT 500) and soon missed riding. I picked up a mag to help figure out what new quad to buy. As you know, they hate Bombardier. If I didn't get the chance to see a DS at the dealer I would have never considered buying one because of them. I ended up buying a Baja X and ABSOLUTELY love it. One thing stands out in my mind when I think back about what the mags had to say about it. They said it was too long and wide. In 04 Bomb shortened it up and now the mags say its too short and twichy. Make up your mind. Bomb was just trying to make the mags happy and ended up hurting their quad by making it shorter. How else will the mags hurt Bomb? They already are convincing people not to buy them even though the DS already comes with all the after market goodies for less money. We all know how business works; if you don't sell product you stop making that product. We are fortunate enough that Bomb didn't cheapen up the DS to sell more. Sorry for rambling but I had to.
