Default 02 Grizz jerks

My new-to-me 02 Grizz jerks when slowing from moderate speeds and only using the back brakes. Is this normal or is it a problem? Doesn't do it when coasting down or using front brakes. Does anyone else's Grizz do this? BTW mine doesn't have the override button like I saw in the 04 catalog. Whats that for? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Jed.

don't know about the jerking, maybe the brakes need some braking in (no pun intended) about the override button, if it's the one i'm think of on auto trannys it allows you to go as fast in reverse as you can in forward.
hope i helped

common issue, no biggie. I don't recall the reason, but it's either the engine braking or the fact that the rear brake is on the drive shaft.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Thanks, KRAW. Does anybody have any info on a way to minimize this effect or is it just the nature of the beast? Thanks-- Jed

Does the whole ATV jerk so bad that it feels abnormal? If if feels wrong then it most likely has a problem.

It's normal. it's just play in the rear driveline, when you slam on the brakes, it will jerk and clunk. took me by suprise the first couple times... also. SOME of the grizzly's have a problem with the rear disc brake bolts coming loose. It will make more noise, and COULD break the bolts... I haven't seen any that have broken any bolts, just FYI that i could happen. Mine have been tight since day one, my buddies were a little loose at about 2000 miles...
