Dadsworry;
If it was me I would ask how he knows Cats are no good. Personnal expereince or good old heresay(usually). I've had my used cat for 5 months now, it's a 2001 AC 250 and the only problem I've had is a low battery and a slightly lean carb(junk winter fuel, I'll bet). I have added about 40 hours to the hour meter. I found that most negative reports are not first hand, so are unprovable.

I have a 2000 500 and I can't say a bad thing about the machine. It is a work horse and I will buy another AC. I own 2 Polaris machines also...and they are always in need of some type of fixin....
I would like to know why that fellow would say they're nothing but problems.
I don't know anyone that has had any major problems.
The only thing I can think of is the problem that AC owners had with busting drive axles last year....but I think that is something that has been addressed. Much of that is due to a poor batch of axles and large after-market tires.

HI. JUST JOINED THE SITE. THIS IS GREAT. ALREADY LEARNED ALOT OF INFO ABOUT MY CAT. I HAVE AN 01 400 ACT MANUAL WITH 3000 HARD MILES ON IT. I KEEP THE OIL CHANGED AND BRAKES ON IT AND THATS ALL IVE EVER HAD TO DO TO IT. PUT A NEW SET OF LIGHTS AND 26" GATORS ON. INSTALLED A SWITCH TO KILL THE FAN WHEN GOING IN DEEP WATER(KEPT BLOWING FUSES).NEVER EVEN PUT A SPARK PLUG IN IT. FOR SOMEONE TO SAY THAT ARCTIC CAT IS JUNK THEN THEY MUST NOT RIDE MUCH.

I ride with a wide range of people who are on many differnt types of scooters, I have seen cats with 4000 miles on them drive through water holes that were over there seats and they keep on going, but as anyone says they all will break somehow at some point, nut hte cat is as good as any and in the water the front and rear disc brakes are the only way to go. good luck!!
