I'm interested in purchasing the factory tach & installing it on my 01 DS. I had the white autometer gauges on my old Mustang & loved them. I wish the DS tach was white. Does anyone on here know the secret to getting any autometer tach to work on a DS, say a whiteface one?

 

there was a thread going a few weeks ago about installing tachs (didnt read the whole thing so dont know if they were installing digi tachs, or the autometer one)

Try searching the forum for Tach or Tachometer.

 

yeah I tried the search. I really didn't for sure all the details. It seems it's like a top secret trick get it to hook up easy for the customer.

 

Shouldn't be that tough. There are only three connections I think.

Power off the ignition switch (key)
Lead off black wire off CDI (I think - has been a while)
Connection to the spark sender (brain cramp - what is that thing called again?? Transformer?? Voltage something or the other?

Check ds650 dot net for instructions I had scanned in from my tach installation.

Jegs may have the Tach you want.

 

they install real nice from bomb but never seen a white faced one.
