Submerged Kodiak!
#1
Here is the deal. I went to the Mud Nationals in Texas. I put my quad in the mud bog hole. This hole is pretty much like quicksand. It was VERY VERY sandy water. The kodiak went partially under. Before running it, I took out the spark plug, blew all the water out, washed it out with wd-40, etc. At this time let me say, NO WATER GOT INTO THE OIL. Just enough went in through the air box to hydrolock the quad. I drained the oil when I got home. There was no water in it. However, once I started the quad, it was obvious the rings were shot. I have rebuilt the top end. Here is the question: Is it likely or unlikely that I have sand in my crankcase. All the shops around here are adamant that THERE IS SAND IN THERE and the case must be taken apart. I want all of your educated opinions on the matter.
