last weekend i was draging my buddie who has an 03 pred that has intake, jet, exhaust, port polished, 11:1 pistons, and runs 105 octane. We are both equally good riders. I have an 02 raptor with only a k&n, jet, exhaust. I was smokeing him of the line but when we hit 4th he caught me and passed me through 5th. Any advise on improving my top end??? thanks.....

 

change ur gearing or mabye u wanna lower ur suspension. travel is real high on a stock rappys

 

something is wrong with his pred... or you got an extremly fast raptor.
raptors and preds are pretty even, with mods or stock.
until you get into the raptor bigbores...

 

Go up one tooth on your front sprocket. That should get you alot closer. Any more power needed and you need to go into the motor or nitrous.

 

Just remember that if you gear up you may lose some of your pull off the line! You may get the gearing close enough to run with him, but it shounds like his motor is pulling harder through the tall gears... So you may need to do some more mods!

When your in 4th and 5th how is your quad pulling. If it is not pulling hard you might want to put a 12 front or a try 42, 44, rear. You need to be able to pull the higher gears(4th and 5th). Yes you will loose a little top end but that is the very top and you will pull allot faster through the gears. JMO
