my wolverine seems to be smoking when i start it up. have kept an eye on my oil level and it hasnt gone down at all. any sugestions on what might be cuasing this? also a while ago i had a bit of oil/gas in my airbox, from the inlcines that i take, could it be burning some of the oild that came through the carb.

 

depends on the color of the smoke. White, blue or black. Choke on or off? When it warms up, does it still smoke?

 

When these motors get some wear on them, they smoke a bit till they warm up. White smoke? Probably valve guides.

 

bluish with chocke on or off. it stops after it warms up.

 

sounds like just a little chevy blues. If the compression is good, i wouldnt worry about it.
If its blue, it means oil is being burned.

 

Mine does the exact same thing and it only has about 5 hours on it. Warming up, no choke, I give it a little gas and I get white smoke out of the pipe. After it warms up the smoke seems to go away, so I'm thinking it is either still breaking in, or I'm running rich (valves?). Still, it is a little annoying to have a brand new quad that smokes.

 

White smoke, is just water vapor, no big deal, nothin you can do about it.
