Default oil in air box from vent ??

just curious i was at the dunes and noticed i had some oil in my air box comming from the crankcase vent that vents back into the air tube this seems like a little un nessessary smog intentions any ideas if i can get away with putting a little K&N vent filter on it or what ??? i was riding it hard so dont know if it was getting in the vent from hitting some sharp angles or what ??? any clues guys ???
also when i went to unload my quad from the trailor the dam little red idiot light came on and stayed on then was doing the dimly lit thing just wondering if any of you are using manual guages if so are they just auto type or what ??? the light kinda conserned me but i had remembered reading post's on on them screwing up and my fan was working fine had plenty of oil in it ect but would love some input from you all on this ????
thanks guys

Indianbullet- Your red light may be going bad, I actually replaced one last night( It went dim and then out completely). I thought it was the connectors but it wasnt.

Another reason the light would start to flash and dim, is if your oil res filter is plugged up, the oil pressure would be low and light will sputter on and dim.

I run an ESR in line water temp guage, and it is "pretty" acurate compared to a temp gun reading on the cylinder.

The exess oil in the air box is probably blow-by, I lose a little oil out of my crank case breather vent hose ever time I ride.

i just despise idiot lights and would like to put little mini guages on it for oil and coolent temp thanks again ...be nice to do away with the blow by in the dam air box as well kind of a mess
