Default Buying a Used Banshee

I need some advice from you Yami guys on if i should buy this used banshee, and or things to look out for on the banshee

1) 2000 model
2) it needs rings, and the top end put back together(so he says thats all it needs)
3) Its been rolled, says he rolled it down a sand hill (stress marks in the plastic)
4) Front fenders are race cut(half azz)
5) FmF silencers
6) Oneil Bars
7) FMF Graphics.
8) Suspension is setup soft for jumping(what he told me)
9) Headlight housings are rough shape.
10) Says he has never been into the bottom end

I tried to list the worst of it all, and some of the features. I am going to take a more detailed look this weekend, but from what i see, the frame also appears soild, and drivetrain ok, except for the rings part.

Oh yeah and wiseco pistons

Asking $3500 CND

So far the other sport quads i have found in this city, area

2000 300ex, great shape, too small
92 lt250r, got to look at it this weekend

Its pretty slim pickins around here for used quads, so will this banshee be worth the effort?

geez... sounds like its had a rough life... but if you think of it... all quads have... he just told you the truth...
i wouldnt ever pay much for a quad that you know needs a topend... if that was all it needed... you would think he would have fixed it already.... JMO...

What he told me is that he ran it last fall, realized it needed a top end, took the jugs off, as they are now, and intended on fixing it, snow came(great white north eh) and now he just doesnt want to fool around with it (he is also rebuilding his rm top to bottom)

well, if u can get it running by a simple rebuild, just rings and top end gaskits for under 200$, thats a good deal for a 2000 shee. as long as everything else works fine and all.

If its been rolled the handlebars and steering stem are probably bent too. Check tie rods and the rear grab bar.

If its set up for jumping, the shocks will be hard...unless he is hitting 3' megajumps.

for $ 3500 you could put a down payment on a yfz 450 (if you have a steady job)

what is 3500 CND in american? if its close to that in american dollars thats alot of money for sumthing thats beat and doesn't even run. mine ran perfect and is in really good shape(see pics) and i got it for 2300. and mines a 2001. if you wanna go for it i would get him to go for a lower price.

Yeah i know its a little high, found an older (95) banshee, about an hour out of town, that suposedly runs good and alot of accesories for a bit less

I am going to keep this one in the back of my head though, maybe if the guy will go down in price

oh and as to down payment on a yfz450, all i have to say is rode one, nice machine but not that impressed, no hard hitting power like a 2stroke. Also could never afford one
Student + Working at Mcdonalds = tution to pay for, car insurance, gas....etc

Thanks for the advice
