Default Price of a '85 LT-250R

Was wanting some insight on the above 4wheeler. I ran across it yesterday and the guy is asking $1650 for it, said he'd take $1500. It's not real pretty, maybe a 5or6 outta 10, but the motor was just rebuilt (said it cost him $800) and it needs a pressure plate ($26). The front wheels are worn pretty bad but the back ones are new. seat has a few little tears in it but nothing major at all.. it has several added features but i can't remember what they are.. I've been out of off-roading/4wheeling to long.
I know not being able to see it puts a big damper on things.. but any insite as to what this thing really costs would be awesome.. I just really have no idea.. I'm going either tursday or saturday to hear it run and ride it.. that'll tell me alot.
I'm thinking about offering him $1200 cash and going from there..
so what do yall think?

I paid $1800 for my 86 lt a couple of months ago. I probably could have gotten a lot better deal, but they aren't very plentiful around my area. Mine was not in great shape, but it ran like a batoutofhell. I have been very pleased with mine and although I probably paid too much for it, it has been well worth the money. Hope this helps.

I am not sure what exactly it looks like, but from what you said, i would say 1500 is a out standing deal. I have lots of mods done to mine and as much as i can ask for it-if i was going to sell it- is around 1800. I would look through the thing really well, looking at EVERYTHING and going through all the gears, the works.

$1500 is about as much as you want o pay.. Try really hard to get it for $1200. New tires will cost a little, and any cosmetic shouldn't be too much. Besides the presure plate, make sure the motor is sound, and that the frame has no cracks
