Be careful if you have the fender extensions
#1
I got some of those fender extensions that AC sells. They really do help keep mud off the driver and stuff. Problem is, they hang down at the bottom farther than the stock fenders. Yesterday, one of mine got hung on a rock and I heard a POP. I looked down and the fender extension didn't break...instead it put too much force on the main fender and cracked it right across to the foot peg.
So I hack-sawed the bottom sections off and left just the extensions out the side. I still have a cracked fender though. Only had this thing for a month and it's already got a broken fender guard. Anybody know of a way to fix it? It's cracked where the front of your left foot would rest below the 4WD shifter.

I always make a sheet metal backing plate and pop rivet the backing plate behind the crack. Gives lots of support to the break. Oh yeah, I always stop drill the crack, even though plastics is not suppose to continue cracking like metal does.

Is it under warantee??? That might be something they can fix. You were just driving normal, not abusing the thing. SHouldn't have happened.

They probaly won't warrant a break like this but it never hurts to ask. Usually this stuff is concidered to be abuse even though you might think not. The worst that can happen is they say sorry no can help you, but then again they could say ok.
