z400 oil change

z400 oil change
im about to change my oil for the first time on my bike and i was wondering if u guys change those 2 o rings by the oil filter every time u change ur oil. is it going to hurt the machine if u dont change those after changing the oil

You can get away with it once or twice.
If the "inside" one is worn or damaged the oil will by-pass the filter. If the cover o-ring is worn it just leaks.
I always keep one of each on hand............
PS. Change the oil warm. Drain the engine sump. Go easy on the bolts. (ALUMINIUM)
