i don't know if your set on electric gauge , but i put a heat seeker guage on mine last year i like it , seems to be quite acurate , have you ever tried engine ice?

no ive never tried any additave's ive never had any problems with it overheating.. the fan works when its supposed to i just dont trust the idiot light i got my oil pressure guage mounted today think i'll run a T fitting and add the sending unit back into it as well.. but yes i do like the manual guages rather than electric ...

mine has never really over heated either but the light has come on a couple times lastyear(only had it one season) the heat seeker displayed over 220 f but that was a really hot day, it does get hot here in canada in july aug 30 c plus. ive just herd about so many problems with the fans in these machines if one could keep the temp down i feel it would be a good thing.

thanks Lance im starting to think about not putting the temp guage in.. i was also wondering if the people out there having heating problems have taken the guts out of the thermostat we used to do that to our cars when i lived in Redding gets hot as hell there we would leave part of the thermostat in as a restrictor to reduce the flow of coolent so the radiator could still do its job but it worked real well keeping things cool

I havent had any heating problem with my DS. Only when the fan went out. I got a new fan and hooked it directly to the battery and but a toggle switch that way i can turn it on or off when i want to, it works great and i havent had any trouble since. I live in southern new mexico so the temp. outside gets around 100 to 115 degrees during the summer. I havent never heard of taking the thermostat out of the housing but u could try it, i dont know if it will hurt anything or not. Lance
