DS650 Radiator Fluid Consumption
#1
After every ride the radiator fluid is empty in the overflow tank and down 10-20% in the radiator. I haven't noticed any leaks. I don't think there is fluid in the oil. Where is it going or could it be that it is not being filled up completely while the engine is off? I did change the fluid recently and didn't feel it took enough fluid when I filled it back up. However, I have topped the fluid off several times since then with water only, but after I ride the DS, the fluid level is down again.

Hey scooby guess what I gots me a shop manual right in front of me and I will tell yea how much fluid is supposed to be in there. 0.58 U.S. gal
Use a blend of 60% Antifreeze with 40% Water.
Refilling Procedures
With vehical on a flat surface, Engine cold, refill radiator no.2 (radiator) and colant tank no.5 (Tank) up to cold level mark. Wait a few minutes then refill to mark. Install pressure cap. Run engine for a brief period then stop engine. Refill up to mark. Reinstall Pressure Cap No.1 (Radiator cap) When engine has completely cooled down recheck coolant level in radiator no.2 (radiator) and coolant tank no.5 (tank) and top up if nessary. check coolant concentration (freezing point) with proper tester if you have anymore questions message me and I will answer. Hey dont be down with your bike if you dont remember what happend with my bike the first three hours worth of rideing my rear bearings burned up then the replaced the rearend (bearings, seals etc etc) and they adjusted my chain wrong and that ended up bending the front counter shaft in the motor the shaft the front spocket mounts to. I ended up haveing a new motor installed into my bike I mean that they fixed it and gave me a one month extended warranty and since then I havent had any problems since except getting beat in a local drag race we had here buy a 250r my stock tires wouldnt hook up. but let me tell yea if you got the extra time remove the exhaust packing the bike sounds awesome and man low end power is great you gain so much power is awesome. Well let me know if you need any more info see yea later dude.

You may want to check to see if the fluid is coming out of the overflow. I have heard that guys who race 2-strokes will place the overflow tube just above the exhaust pipe which causes a a lot of steam when it overflows. This may not be possible on your ATV but there may be a way to put a catch or something similar below the overflow tube so that you can see for sure if any fluid is coming out through it.

I think the problem may be a leak in the radiator. This weekend I had the DS out riding in hot weather. At the end of the day on Sunday, the DS seemed to be running hotter than it was on Saturday. It turns out that the radiator was completely empty! I filled it up and I think there is a leak coming from the radiator. Funny how the warranty just expired last week...
