Well, come on, man!

We're really glad you were there, and it's swell you made a video recording, but:

How FAR did he jump?

Did he BREAK the world record?

What quad did he ride?

Did he crash into the superstructure of a river boat on landing (again)?

Inquiring minds want to know!

We knew he planned the attempt; more details of his effort would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was there too. At first he does tons of practice fly bys. He starts out in a field and comes in acrossed the tracked and his ramp is in the center area. This year he had a wooden ramp built last year it was dirt. He had his own quad this year. It has a KTM 550 engine in a Phillips frame. It is made of steel and the tubing is an inch thick. I met him at Kames autograph sesion and he was telling me about this. No one was there when I was there so I had a conversation with him. He made it the first time but needed to go a little faster to go farther and break the record and he did.

Thanks, Blaster23! Just what I wanted to hear. My dirt biker buddies all laughed earlier, when I told them the Kangaroo Kid rode a KTM quad. Much obliged!

Were you guys there for the freestyle competition Friday night?? NOW that was awesome!!!! They made those tricks look so darn easy!!!!! I would like to get my hands on a helmet like Elza had...bet it would be some serious $$$$$ though!!!!
I watched the first jump Matt made....I got tired of the pre-show hype and didn't want to sit through anymore. So...we left. His jump was impressive!!!!!! I heard it was a nice, clean landing. I was there for the races.
They said Heuvos III should be out SOON. Looking forward to that!

The first jump was about 130ft and the 2nd jump was 141ft. 8ft short ofr his record. Matt goes/works by the seat of his pants. I was told that he does not have any one figure the height ,angle, or lenght of the ramp. He has some guts. He just looks at it and figures in his head I guess. Last year the quad was jetted wrong for the cool night air and it was cutting out with no top end, but he went ahead and did the jumpknowing that he might not make it. He did the jump anyway because the people had come to see a jump. I don't know how he walked away from that landing.

Carey Hart pulled off a backflip on a 250, and landed. He did it on dirt, not the water-flip on Children Of a Metal God. Time for the quads to try it....

I nominate Tree Farmer to fire up that hot-rod Kawasaki and give it a try!
