Anyone hillclimb on a Zilla?
#1
I have an 87 and I want to try a hillclimb this summer with it. The hill looks alot like the one in the Heuvos video. So, I wanna try it, and if I can do OK and I like it, I want to make the 500 a dedicated climber.
Anyway, what RPM range do you set the motor and gearing for? And who would be a good engine builder (I know to stay away from Tudor's) to build an engine for this stuff? Does anyone offer a decent stroker or big-bore kit for these?
Would the stock swingwarm be strong enough if lengthened correctly (say 6 inches or more)? And should I remove the shock linkage and make a shock mount directly on the swingarm? If not, who makes good extended swingarms for the 500?
That's about it for now, until I try it and figure some stuff out. So thanks for any help with all these questions, and please feel free to offer any advice you may have.....
Oh, and does anyone know of any good sites with pictures of hillclimbers? Thanks!!
