There is a ATV Spring Fling in NH yesterday and today. They had a obstacal course set up where at the start of it was a speed run of about 250' with a guy on a radar gun at the end, then you had to put on the brakes to make a 180 degree turn to come back. Then there was 3 whoops to go over and then a rock garden to weave yourself threw. Then you have another 180 degree turn, a short flat area then 3 more whoops before you go over a Honda Civic. After you go over the car you have one more 180 corner, then a staight run threw mud to the finish. It was a blast. They only had 2 classes for the 2x4 atv's. 400cc and under, and 401cc and over. There were only a hand full of atv's in the 400 and under, but many in the 401 and over. There were a few YFZ450, Raptor's, KFX700's and my brothers Predator in which he was the only one.

When my brother and I got in line to race, the fastest time in our class was on a YFZ450. He did it in 41 sec on his 2nd run, and his best speed was 37mph by the first turn. The YFZ went on his 3rd run, but lost his chain in the rock garden. Still had on his cheezy stock skids. My brothers first run he did it 44 sec, but had a speed of 45mph by the first turn. His next run, after a feel of the course, he did it in 40sec with a whopping 47mph speed into the first corner. Then on his last run, he copied his time of 40sec. Only 2 dirt bike beat his time all day, and NO ONE broke the 40mph time, and he got a 47mph. The best thing about one of his run's were, when he cleared the car. The anouncer on the megaphone said it was the preetiest thing he's seen(got it on video too). Another thing I was impressed about that Pred, it cornered way better then any other atv there. That thing was on rails at every corner. So by the end of the day, he had the 3rd best time, and by far the fastest speed run. He's going back today to see if he can make a clean sweep of the weekend. How is his atv set up, it's stock other then a 13/38 gearing and a Procom CDI. He did say the Procom helped him out a lot. He was able to stay in 2nd longer without upshifting, or hitting the stock rev limiter.

By the way, my best time was 42sec, and a speed of 39mph. There were 3 KFX700 that got a 42sec run. My oldest daughter got a 52sec run and came in 3rd, and my middle daughter did it in 57sec even doing a 2 wheel wide corner. I thought she was going over. The kid classes didn't go over the rocks or car. Very fun family event.

Clean sweep! He had the best time out of everyone today. They watered down the track over night, but he was still able to get a 41sec run. The club that put the event together said they took many pic of him, and they would post the pics. I will see if I can post some of them. He said the fastest Raptor was 48sec. They had a hard time on the corners 2 wheeling it.

what took the 4x4 class yesterday and today?

 

what tires did he use on his predator. The rear end tends to slide too much around the corners making it difficult to carry speed. Considering that you said it looked like he was on rails means to me that he either has different tires or that the terrain condition is ideal for the razors.
