I've been following Honda 400EXs in Canada for roughly five years and I honestly can't remember seeing another 1999–2004 example in this level of original condition offered publicly.
Most of the machines that come up for sale have been modified, raced, restored, fitted with aftermarket exhausts, replacement plastics, big-bore kits, or simply have much higher use.
This one still retains its original plastics, decals, seat, exhaust, and even the original tires. The mold lines are still visible on the tires, which is something I almost never see on a 24-year-old sport quad.
I've consigned it to the Edmonton, Alberta Ritchie Bros. auction on June 24–26 and I'm curious what fellow Honda enthusiasts think a survivor-grade 400EX is worth in today's market.
For U.S. members, the exchange rate may be worth considering. A sale price of:
• $5,000 CAD = approximately $3,650 USD • $7,500 CAD = approximately $5,475 USD • $10,000 CAD = approximately $7,300 USD
I've attached photos and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has seen another original-condition 400EX recently, especially in Canada.
Has anyone come across a comparable survivor-grade machine in the last few years?
