Default 2000 DS..Does it have a brake light?

Just bought a 2000 DS. All lights seem to be working but noticed when I hit the brakes, the rear light doesn't light up. Did the earlier Ds's have a brake light?

they burn out tail bulbs bad, switch to a 1157 led most auto parts carry them, 6-10 bucks last a long time.

The 1157 LED bulbs face sideways, so you loose a little of the brightness unless your on the right side of the quad. My 1157s have been fine thus far - only burned out one. I have one of the 1157 LED bulbs but never bothered to use it.

Can the conventional bulbs be bought from any auto parts place (if so, what is the bulb type or number?) or do I need to buy it directly from my dealer?

Thanks

The standard brake light bulb is the already mentioned 1157, it is the most standard brake light bulb in the world. It has been in use in Cars, Trucks, almost everything since I dunno, maybe the 40s or earlier. I think you thought that perhaps the 1157 was an LED bulb, but it is not, what we were discussing was a LED bulb made to fit into the standard 1157 socket.

Make sense?
