Bayou 220 decompression lever, whats it used for?

Default Bayou 220 decompression lever, whats it used for?

What the heck does it do, saw the lever and looked it up on kaws web site, said its a decompression lever. Should I be using it?

You know when you pull start the quad how its really hard to pull? The smaller quads do not have an automatic decompression like the bigger newer ones. When you flip the lever it will make start the quad alot easier. I know on my King Quad back in the day it was hard to pull start it unless the lever was used. You only need to use it when pull starting.
