how does weight effect raptor performance
#1
i read some where that the raptor's max rider weight with stock shocks is 225 lbs, i am about 208, and i am really really really thinking about getting one, but i am procrastinating and thinking to my self that this thing won't be able to handle 208 lbs? if stock shocks is the case i could get aftermarkets shocks, but those aren't cheap either, but i think the stock shocks are fine,
give me the story on the stock raptors perfomance, torque, and overall power
thanks

At 208 it will handle your weight fine, I weight in the 230-235 lb range and I routinely jump my raptor and so far no problems. Look at my pic page, there are a couple of pics of me jumping 40' on a MX track with stock shocks and the raptor did fine. Though I will probably be upgrading to aftermarket shocks and a-arms and axl soon for better stability.

see if i bought an 04 raptor i would probably get aftermarket shocks right away if i had the money, if i wanted half way decent all around shocks, i would pay at least 775 bucks up front and 400 out back. but thats if i had the money
thanks

im 300 pounds (after taking a dump ofcourse) but i have no problems on my raptor never bottomed out my shocks so being 100 pounds lighter i see no reason why you would not like the raptor.
