Man everyone used to tell me the same thign when i was your age, and i sure wish now that i would have just bought a bigger bike from the get go,
i mean Just because you have the power doesent mean you are gonna use it, i see a quy with a CR500 and he babys the thing , but he has the power when he wants to uses it and get to knwo it better

I also think the banshee is a little bit too much of a machine for him.
A blaster or Raptor 350 would be a better machine.

I would say unless you are wise beyond your years stay away from a Banshee. I would hate to see you get hurt from being an inexperienced rider. A Banshee will get you into some serious trouble very quickly. I know this first hand from letting a neighborhood friend your age ride my first Banshee. This Banshee had serious motor work and was extremely fast. Needless to say this kid wrecked not 5 minutes after I let him ride it. He wasn’t seriously hurt, but he did a fair amount of damage to the quad. He was an experienced blaster rider too.
Do you have riding experience?
I agree with the gentleman that suggested you buy a blaster first, see how that goes. Buy a used one, you can find them cheap.

for you guys telling this kid to go for it get the banshee put it in this light. imagine he is your SON, now imagine him going out and that power band opening up and wraping him around a tree. everytime you recomend some 12-13 year old kid to buy a banshee just picture that in your head. it may be hard to do but for some of us who have children would you let your son climb on a banshee at 12 i know mine wont get on one untill he is ready to handle it and that could be 16-17 or longer. you got to think about some of the advice yall give cuz remember when you was a kid you never listened to your parents well these kids dont but they do listen to you guys being fellow riders and they take our advice seriously. just somthing to think about.

If your ready for a high powered quad I would look at a 400 or may be a rappy. Now Before everyone rips me. The banshee power is very finicky and I think a young kid would have a hard time hanging on. With the others the power is very predictble and much softer hitting. Also a rappy has reverse. Now bigger people realize it is not needed and is just extra weight but a 13 year old would have a hard time lifting a shee to turn it around. Just something to think about.
