Hello I have a '88 trx 250R and I was wondering what the effects are on a stock quad using racing fuel and what changes if any would be needed to run it on a stock quad.

You will notice little to no power gain. Throttle response may pick up abit. Race gas will only burn cleaner in a stock engine, it will not produce more power. Changes that need to be made might be some jetting changes, but that is about it. Race gas is only needed in higher compression engines. Save your money and just run some 92-94 octane pump gas.

High octane is more stable than lesser octain, its not some sort of power booster as some people seem to think. The only time its needed is if the compression is high enough that a more stable fuel is neede to keep the fuel from prematurely detonating (Causing major engine damage).

If your engine is stock, just run a good 92 octain. If you run race fuel in a stock engine, it actually causes the engine to rev slower, due to it being more stable, so you lose power.
