help me choose mud tires for my ds.

well after riding on sunday with my buddy in his raptor and andother guy in his grizzly. i have come to realize the 20 razr 2 tires arent good at all in deep mud. my buddy in the raptor has 22 inch MUD MACHINE tires and he only had to get pulled out of the mud by the grizzly once. As for me i had to get pulled out about 8 times.
the choices i have been looking at are 22x12x9 mud machines like my buddy. 22x12x9 super swampers, and 22x12x9 spider tracs. which ones do you all recommend. and as for the gearing issue i have a 15t front sprocket.

out of the tires there, i'd say go with super swampers, my bros buddy got the SS Vampires, and they work awesom for the mud, amazing traction, spider tracs are ok, but i don't think they'd have enough traction for a ds, i have half worn down realtors and they do not too bad, but if i was going for a pure mud tire i'd either get the 22" vampires or some 23" gators

I've had 2 sets of Spider Tracs, one for a quadzilla and the other for the DS. They wear great and self clean real well. They also aren't that heavy. The square profile works great if you are riding in ruts. The tires will get a side bite. Also, if you hit a hard packed area, they won't vibrate you to death. I've also heard good things about mud-lites. It bought them because they are the most copied design to date. Imitation is the best form of flattery.

Does anyone realize that the DS is not even close to a mud machine??????? Why on earth would you run a dune/trail machine through a mud run??? Oh well, just my opinion.

Hey Jiffy...
I love the Sur-Trak and they work well in all conditions. My buddy has them on his warrior and I have something similar on my DS.
The DS is a great mud machine, until you get stuck!!!!

well i dont really like to go through mud up to the seat but i have never been to the places i was last weekend. and there was some serious mud. i just want to be ready in case i come across mud like i was in sunday. i do all kinds of riding but i want something that will do really well if im in mud. my buddy didnt get stuck at all. well ya actually he did once.
i dont want a pure mud tire. so i think the vampire is out of the question. they look to be strictly for mud.

Try mud machines from sand tires unlimited. I ran them on my hunting 4-wheeler in louisiana along time ago and i still have the tires today and they are still in great shape. They have great traction and you can even use them in the sand and they will do fine also. Lance
