completly stock. has a hard mid hit and continues all the way to top, low is a little lacking but not bad. 70-75 MPH , handles great one of the best trannys around. It is a little heavy but I cant tell any diffrent when Im riding it even agenst my old 400EX untill I gota move it by hand then she will show her girth. best hop ups is a end cap w/ jetting and 15t front sprocket. this will wake the beast. you cant go wrong w/ the DS, its been the best quad (out of many) that Ive owned.

I don't think a regular stock DS will do 80. I agree with Sam that 70-75 is probably tops. But with a simple gearing change, 85-89 is easy. In a article in Dirt Wheels last year, the manufacturer even said that it was geared down to meet the CPSC guidelines of 75. Then they recommended changing to 17/38 (I believe) to get around 89mph out of her.

So would the 2004 regular ds 650 with the stock gearing beat the stock raptor and predator. How hard is it to change gears? How expensive are the gears? Thanks and i weigh about 120 lbs.
