I have searched this post and am looking for more info on the clutch kit. High lifters web site is very vague. Does it help on low end torque? Will there be a big difference in how soon it engages?
Ps I rode on a traxter last night... besides the funky seat it was a great puller.. Pulled my grizz out... misjudged a swamp. And does anyone know about this speed senser thing? what exactly it does?

here is the real deal on the clutch kit. i have installed both the clutch kit for stock tires and for oversized tires on my 2000 grizzly and have experimented and tested all three weight sizes and have gone back to the original stock weights. i have installed both size weights on a stock machine, so no other factors were involved. the clutch weights do make the clutch engage "sooner", meaning at a lower rpm. if your bike is standing still at an idle and you nail the gas, there is no noticable difference whatsoever in how "quick" the clutch engages. since it does lower the rpms at which the clutch engages, the entire acceleration range is affected. if you went out and rode your bike right now it may remind you of a snowmobile with its high revs throughout the entire band. after installing the clutch weights (stock tires) the rpm's are lower until you hit about 45 or 50 mph then it revs on out. the pro of the clutch kit is that it is slightly faster from 0 to 55 and accelerates a little more smoothly. the con is, you will find yourself in low range much more and if you already use low a good bit, then you will probably be disappointed. the reason that i say this is that you tend to lose some low end grunt. you just don't have the high reving, on command power that you are used to. i mainly noticed a diff. when climbing hills and in thick mud. it always seemed to have just enough power without quite lugging down, but never powre to spare. i guess if you mainly rode trails without big steep hills and never hit any thick thick mud it would be a good mod. with the riding that i like to do, the stock weights work the best. there wasn't a great deal of difference using the weights for oversized tires and stock weights (both using stock tires) but after experimenting with both i found the performance to be better with stock weights. i hope that i have helped you out a little.
