I've been riding my 330R powered 400EX for several weeks now and I love it. I'm planning on sending the magazines some pics, because mine also fits a YZ400F motor as well, so it's a one of a kind quad. Anyway, it is a doable project, but it will take a little work, but it's plenty worth it to me. You will have to make the front and bottom motor mounts. What I did was bought 2 sets of stock R mounts and cut them to properly fit, then welded the halve together. I have removable lower mounts, but thats so I can put the YZ engine in, you may want to do it different. for the rear I run the 86-87 style swing-arm mount plate. As far as the pipe goes, it has to be modified, because the 400EX has the steering stem mounted farther back and you will have to clear the radiator. I was able to to make it work with 2 angled cuts on the strait header portion of the pipe and turning the section, and it worked perfectly. REMEMBER, do not remove or add any metal, or you will affect the pipes performance... Good Luck if you decide to try out the project, my advice is to plan ahead, and don't get in too much of a hurry. It's actually a very easy engine swap, because frame railes do not need to be modified, but getting the pipe to fit does take some thinking, I actually tested out the cuts on PVC pipe until I felt I had a good angle and location.
Good Luck,
