removing and replacing gasket on 185

so i started to remove the head gaskets with a exacto knife and a whire wheel but it wasntworkin out too good so is there a better/easy way to do this??also when puttibg the new gasket on is there anything i shouldworry about|?

Here are a couple of hints:
You can buy a wheel for a die grinder that is made of some type of rubber. It has several tips on it similar to a hair brush. This works great for cleaning gasket surfaces. A wire wheel is really too rough.
When you are putting the new head gasket on be sure all of the dowel pins are in and that you have the little o-ring installed on the correct dowel pin. If this is not installed correctly the cam and valves will not get any oil. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]
While you have the head off you should go ahead and replace the rubber valve seals. This is a pain but it will keep it from smoking upon startups in the future. I think they make a valve removal tool just for this.
