Hey, I just got a brand new 2001 blue yamaha wolverine. it is a great machine. i am 14 years old and it runs great. i am getting it worked in as quick as i can but 10 hrs at half throttle and 10 more a 3/4 throttle is a long time. i am enjoying it so much. The blue looks so great and since i got it out of state i didn't have to pay sales tax. I was wondering if anybody else has a wolverine they would like to talk about ideas, warnings, etc would be great. Well, i'll keep you posted on how it is coming, i cant wait to get it broken in so i can open it up.

Congrats on your new bike, I have a blue '99 Wolv that I love, so far I've installed a Pro-Design filter kit, FMF pipe, and Dynojet kit and I'm very impressed by the power gain.
There are faster ones out there, but I'm happy with mine!

CTATV, congrats on your new Wolverine. One thing, while you didn't pay taxes on it you will if you decide to register it. CT requires that ATVs be registered and the ticket is about $70 if you are caught without a registration (I've seen people get busted just hauling their quad around in the back of their truck). Have fun and ride safe.

Wolverines are awsome. Nice choice. They are pretty good jumpers and if you know how to do it you can wheelie forever. just stand on the wheelie bar and smash the gas in 1st and get it strait up. if you go to far the bar will catch you and it will not go backwards. its cool. Just watch out when you are jumping becuase the stock axle stinks. My friend bent his jumping. he put in a heavy duty durablue and now he can get all the air he wants. They go pretty good in the mud and climb well also. They are fast 4x4s. Take the racks off and it looks a lot better and it is super easy to put the front one on if you need to hall something. Good Luck with your new ride.

Hey everybody, I'd like to keep you updated on the ATV. It handles great in the stickey mud. the ground clearence is good. i just finished 13 of my 20 hour break in period. Last night i installed Ox-lite Steel CV boot/joint guards and i have a full body and rear diff. skid plates in the mail. It handels great and although i haven't done many wheelies it's a great jumper for a 4x4. The are only two drawbacks. I find a 4x4 has a much larger turning radius and the mud protection isn't really good for anywhere below your waste. It handels great in the water and have already gotten about as deep as i can without any mod's. So far i have had no trouble and i would say that anybody who can afford it, it's the best of both worlds. It's really sporty and can keep up with any sport atv in most conditions while if you put it with a bunch of 500 4x4's it can still hold its own. the rack capacity is large and is designed well for all diffrent kinds of use. The dual headlights below the rack means unlike my polaris i can see at nihgt when i have equiptment on my front rack. The blue is a great color. although many people have it the green doesn't really do anything for me. Unless you are planning to hunt or some other activity when requires camp the team yamaha blue is much better looking and the painted silver rims are better looking than the brown/green rims that come with the green version.

Hey, the Wolverine is a great bike. i would give you two thumbs up. Make sure you don't buy a used one from 96 or earlier. the reason for this is because the carb was too large and it was fixed in 97. For more info check out the article by ATV Connection

It is really great and helped me make my decision. Good luck finding a used one, they are quite hard to come by, i guess thats a good sign that people like to hold on to them. That also means you should be very watchfull for hidden faults or problems
