Default 686 Raptor Owners?

What are you running for Jets Sizes on the Stock Mikuni Carbs... I'm way off and, Clue less... It sputters off idle and, chokes sometimes trying to build RPM. I'm running 172.5 and, 175 mikuni's and, Dyno Jet Needle on 3rd clip now w/ lid off and, K&N w/ full pipe.. Got any guesses for me.. I think i'm way rich!

I am running 175/180 stock jets style (Mikuni), stock needle and 25 pilot. that's with the led on and at sea level.

I was at 190/195 mikuni jets with no airbox and screws were 3 turns out with 25 pilot jets..I also had the Craycraft upgrades to stockers, duel feed and bigger seats and needles.

It ran awsome with no stumble at all, assuming yout float level is correct also..

I hope my float level is correct. I haven't altered it. How would it go bad?

I'm 3 turns out on the air/mix screws. My elevation is about 6-800 ft above sea level.

Capt,

If you cant get it figured out running the Mikuni jets on the DJ needles. Give some
DJ mains a try. I run 170/175 DJ mains in mine. But I dont shoot long long dune hills.
I also run 27.5 pilots.

Most guys run a tad higher on DJ mains than me. But mine runs great, and the plug looks
perfect with this.

Keep us updated - and definitely make sure the float level isnt too high. That could make for
trouble.

I'm runnin' 160/165 mains with a DJ needle on (I believe) third clip. Stock pilot and I don't know how far out of the air/fuel screw. It runs perfect and was jetted/tuned on a Dyno, try this setup and see if it helps.

I had the same problem you did when I was tryin to jet, it was close with 195/200, stock needle 3rd clip, 25 pilot 3.5 turns out. I had some bad lean spots so I finally gave up the cash to get it tuned.

I just wanted to get an idea of what you guys are running. I got the jets i'm going to trial and, error tomorrow.

Man you guys are way different from bike to bike. Hope i don't end up having to try 50 differnet combos.

Capt, I was never able to get mine to run right on the Dynojet needles. It was either too fat in the midrange or too lean on the top. Here's what I came up with. SixsixT airbox delete kit with dual K&N's, 195 (in both carbs) Mikuni mains. Modified Mikuni needles (approximately .015" machined off from the tip .3" from the end) on 3rd clip. 27.5 pilots. 2 1/2 turns out @ 1200 feet of elevation.
